Hughes supply fifty aquaculture net cleaning systems

In the past two years Hughes Pumps has supplied over fifty of its Aquaculture Net Cleaning Systems to some of the industry’s leading specialist companies. These include Mainstream Fish Farms, Marine Harvest and Bremnes Seashore, with 10 systems being delivered to one of Norway’s largest Contractors.

Hughes says: “Aquaculture producers are only too aware that marine growth build up reduces the tidal flow of oxygen rich seawater through nets, limiting fish growth and increasing the possibility of disease. In severe cases the weight and additional drag of marine growth can damage nets, leading to a breakdown of the cage allowing predators in and fish to escape.
