Soybean industry looking to help domestic aquaculture producers, but it's complicated

US soybean producers are doing a lot these days to help the aquaculture industry. The United Soybean Board (USB) notes that soybean check-off dollars are being spent on research efforts and to promote US aquaculture's health, economic and environmental benefits through the National Aquaculture Association. It is, in fact, the American animal agriculture and aquaculture sectors that are the leading consumers of US soybeans, according to the USB.

"US soybean farmers support the interests of all US animal farmers, including aquaculture producers, in order to help protect our number one market for our crop," said USB Director David Wilson, a soybean farmer from Lincoln, Ala. "We're interested in making US soybean meal as good as it can possibly be for our customers." Read more ...
