Stage set for Scottish marine aquaculture awards

The Scottish Marine Aquaculture Awards take place tonight at the Prestonfield House in Edinburgh. The biannual awards ceremony and dinner celebrates outstanding achievements by individuals and companies involved in the development of Scotland’s fastest growing food sector.

Total output of this sector is estimated to be around UK£434 million (US$712.911 million) per year at farm gate, including around £412 million (US$676.772 million) for farmed Atlantic salmon, £14.34 million (US$23.556 million) for rainbow trout and £7.7 million (US$12.648 million) for shellfish.
