Marine Harvest to use anti predator nets

Marine Harvest one of Canada's largest producers of farmed salmon, has announced its intention to use anti-predator nets to protect its Canadian fish cages from seals and other predators that attack the salmon. Using anti predator nets will eliminate the need to shoot and kill the animals, this decision comes days after an international coalition of animal welfare and marine conservation groups, called for a ban on imports of salmon from countries that allow the shooting and killing of marine mammals.
