New Zealand King Salmon applies for eight farms

New Zealand company King Salmon has applied to the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) to set up eight new fish farming sites, the application was made days after new legislation come into force, Aquaculture Legislation Amendment Act (No 3). The site have been chosen after the company invested NZ$2 million (€1.155 million) in scientifically proving the eight sites were suitable for salmon farming. The proposed eight sites are Ruaomoko Point, Kaitapeha Bay and Ngamahau Bay, just off Arapawa Island; Richmond Bay, Taipipi, Wymens Bay and White Horse Rock in the Waitata Reach, and Papatua in Port Gore.
