FSA in Norway proposed new rules for combating sea lice

The Food Standard Agency in Norway has made proposals for new rules for the control and monitoring of sea lice in fish farms, they have also proposed changes to the aquaculture operation regulations and disinfection regulations. They proposed a new salmon regulation that will allow them to meet continuing challenges that aquaculture will face over sea lice and its evolution of resistance.


The last few years have been marked by frequent changes in regulations in the area. There is therefore a need for an overall review of the regulations and for a more robust regulatory framework that better takes into account current and future challenges in the area and secures sustainable production.
