21/11/13: Aquaculture investment fund promotes sustainability project

Dutch investment fund Aqua-Spark has launched a new innovative investment fund with the aim of addressing global health and food security.

Devoted to technology, techniques and businesses focused on farming seafood instead of hunting it, the main aim of the investment is to generate a high economic return through aquaculture practices.

The fund officially launched on 14 November 2013.

"Aquaculture is one of the few sectors where you can make an old-fashioned return and do good," Mike Velings, Aqua-Spark founder and managing partner told global news agency AFP.

"Aside from solving issues such as overfishing, food security, and environmental problems you can put food on the table and create good jobs."
